We are looking to hire a Contracts Specialist to join our Procurement/Contracting department. You would be responsible for commercial purchasing contracts, RFP-based competitions and negotiation of contractual agreements that support the accomplishment of RFE/RL’s mission.

 

What does the job entail?

  • Drafting, reviewing, modifying legal procurement documents (incl. specialized and non-routine ones and solicitations).
  • Serving as a primary point of contact for contracting issues with internal and external customers.
  • Ensuring contracts/agreements meet all company policy and legal requirements prior to final signature.
  • Developing contract templates (in cooperation with the legal department when necessary).
  • In coordination with other departments developing negotiation strategy and leading negotiation on complex contractual issues.
  • Maintaining contracts database and providing up-to-date reporting.
  • Assisting in development and implementation of contract policy and processes.

 

What you bring:

  • Proficiency in Czech and English languages with excellent communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience in contract negotiations
  • Broad experience with commercial purchasing contracts
  • End-user knowledge of MS Office applications
  • Legal background and experience in procurement are preferred
  • Knowledge of Czech legislation is desirable, as well as experience working in a multicultural or a multinational environment or experience living and working abroad
  • Knowledge of US legislation and Federal Acquisition Regulations is a plus

Please note that for the locally advertised positions preference will be given to those with a work permit and/or a valid residence status in the Czech Republic. Locally recruited employees should reside within commuting distance of Prague, Czech Republic, or be willing to move to take up work. Salary scales for locally recruited employees are based on the best prevailing local conditions.
