Current Time is the leading independent Russian-language television channel, providing factual news, unbiassed reporting, and engaging video content to Russian-speaking audiences. What You'll Be Doing:

  • Bringing Shows to Life: You'll be the mastermind behind bringing our shows to air, making snap decisions on floating and killing stories to ensure the highest quality programming.
  • Managing the Rundown: Using cutting-edge production systems, you'll construct and manage the rundown both before the show and in real-time, collaborating with our anchors and producers to select stories, manage the program clock, and incorporate breaking news.
  • Clear Communication: You'll be the linchpin between our anchors, producers, and technical teams, ensuring everyone is on the same page and that the show runs smoothly from start to finish.
  • Hands-On Production: From dealing with video ingest issues to editing raw footage, you'll be hands-on in every aspect of production, ensuring that all elements are ready for air.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience: With at least 5 years of experience in journalism or TV production, including live streaming from the field, you'll bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the role.
  • Strong Editorial Judgment: You'll have a keen eye for what makes a compelling story and the ability to make quick decisions under pressure.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Whether you're liaising with anchors or coordinating with technical teams, your communication skills will be key to ensuring the smooth running of the show.
  • Flexibility and Adaptability: In a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, you'll need to be adaptable and able to thrive under pressure.
  • Leadership and Creativity: With strong leadership skills and a creative flair, you'll inspire your team to deliver their best work every day.

Appointment against this post is on a local basis only. Please note that for the locally advertised positions preference will be given to those with a work permit and/or a valid residence status in the Czech Republic. Locally recruited employees should reside within commuting distance of Prague, Czech Republic, or be willing to move to take up work. They are not eligible for allowances applicable to candidates who are internationally recruited. Rather, they receive statutory benefits as per Czech labor law. Salary scales for locally recruited employees are based on the best prevailing local conditions. RFE/RL does, however, cover the costs of interview travel and, upon appointment, some relocation costs.
