Join our dynamic Systema team as a Digital Video Producer and embark on an exhilarating journey of investigative storytelling and societal impact! You will play a pivotal role in assembling recorded footage into high-quality investigative projects. Collaborating closely with our video team, including Digital Video Producers and Motion Graphic Designer, your mission will be to breathe life into exclusive stories that resonate with our audience.

About Us: 

Systema is the first Russian-language investigative unit inside RFE/RL (Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty). Systema conducts in-depth, high-profile investigations on various topics of interest to the Russian-speaking audience. We aim to provide comprehensive and thought-provoking coverage while leveraging the resources and platform of RFE/RL to amplify our investigations to a wider audience.

Responsibilities:

  • Your primary task will be editing raw video footage to create exclusive and innovative video projects.
  • You will be instrumental in understanding and executing the team’s vision and requirements with speed and precision.
  • Responsible for assembling video edits integrating logical and stylish sequencing in line with author's script drafts.
  • You will incorporate music, subtitles, graphics, and effects into our videos.
  • Ensuring audio levels are appropriate and smooth transitions will be key to maintaining our high-quality standards.
  • Stay ahead of the curve by continuously exploring and implementing new editing technologies and the industry's best practices.
  • Be an active part of the team and ready to find new ways to explore investigative storytelling.
  • Engage with stakeholders throughout the pre- and post-production, ensuring alignment and quality.
  • Deliver flawless final edits that align with our mission and standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: A degree in film studies, a related field, or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • Work Experience: At least one year of experience in video editing within various formats of content in a media organization.
  • Proficiency in digital technology and editing software (Adobe Creative Suite 6 including Premiere Pro, After Effects, Final Cut, Photoshop).
  • A strong portfolio showcasing your video editing work and innovative multimedia storytelling skills.
  • Experience in motion graphic design is a plus.

Competencies:

  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and use images and sound to fulfill the producer's vision.
  • Strong sense of style, pacing, and attention to detail.
  • Broad knowledge of international events, politics, and specific insights into Russian political and social situations is a plus.
  • Creative storytelling abilities, with a track record of innovation in multimedia storytelling.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to build positive relationships within the Systema team.

Languages:

  • Proficiency in Russian.
  • Strong English language skills.
